Fahad won the toss and elected to bat first with the thinking being that with such a strong bowling lineup, runs on the board will be vital. The 3s lost an early wicket but Sej and Madhav quickly steadied the ship with a solid 2nd wicket partnership. The inevitable middle order collapse meant we found ourselves 60-5 but Sej found a reliable partner in Fahad as they put on a match-saving 85 run partnership. A lovely cameo from the young star Monis brought the final score for the 3s to 193/7 at the end of the first innings. The skipper top scored with a near run a ball 53 and Sej was the glue for the whole innings, carrying his bat and ending up on 51 not out.

Chasing a target of 194 to win, Purley struggled to ever really get going and the field was electric. Early wickets from Mo and Sarfraz set the tone for the 2nd innings and the 3s were on a roll. Purely found themselves 30-5 but there was no room for complacency from the 3s as they looked to seal the 20 points. The bowlers did their job as wickets at regular intervals meant Purley never even got into the game. Wickets shared between all the bowlers, Sarfaraz leading the way with 3-12.

An emphatic win for the 3s, another 20 points on the board, still top of the table: onto the next!
